Q: Should I make an appointment with an advisor?
A: You should make an appointment with an advisor if you need assistance with any of the following services:
· Schedule change.
· Changing your major to kinesiology (students who want to change their major from kinesiology to something else need to see the department they want to change to).
· Re-entering ASU.
Q: How do I obtain an override into a class?
A: Prerequisite overrides are given to students who meet the prerequisite requirements for a kinesiology course but when attempting to register they are given an error message stating they do not. These students can e-mail one of the advisors and do NOT need to make an appointment.
Information to include in the e-mail:
· The course name(s) you are requesting a prerequisite override for.
· If you are taking the prerequisites outside of ASU, you will need to copy and paste from your community college proof you are enrolled or have completed the course.
· Your ten-digit AFFILIATE ID number.
· The semester you want to take the course.
Overrides for classes that are full cannot be authorized by advisors. Students must continue checking the course to see if a seat opens. A seat will open if someone drops the course or if the department opens more seats. Students who are not yet registered by the first scheduled day of the class MAY be given an override to enroll in the class by being types of overrides.
Q: What do I do if I need to take a course for the third time?
Q: What do I do if I would like to take over 18 credits for the fall or spring semesters?
A: You need to obtain the appropriate form from the following Web site: http://clas.asu.edu/students/forms.
Q: How do I know if a class I took somewhere else will transfer to ASU?

From an out-of-state college or private college, students must first apply to ASU and be accepted. After admission, request a Transfer Evaluation through the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Q: What is a Declaration of Graduation (DOG)?
A: The Declaration of Graduation, commonly called a "DOG", declares the catalog year requirements for the college, degree and major from which you intend to graduate.
If your catalog year is 1996-98 or later, you must file a Declaration of Graduation no later than the semester in which you earn your 87th credit hour. If you do not complete your form in this semester, you will be prevented from further registration. If you change your major, minor, concentration within the major, or catalog year after filing a Declaration of Graduation, the first form will no longer be valid and you must submit a new one. Make an appointment with your academic advisor to review a degree audit report from DARS. At this time, you will complete the Declaration of Graduation form.
If your catalog year is 1994-96 or earlier, you must file an Undergraduate Program of Study no later than the semester in which you earn your 87th credit hour. Contact an academic advisor in the college or department of your major for additional information.
