Clinical Research Unit

The Clinical Research Unit is an integral part of the Center for Metabolic Biology. The CRU is capable of performing simultaneous studies ranging from basic physiological measurements to invasive metabolic procedures. Our staff also supports inter-departmental research studies at ASU. We are currently broadening our services to the Valley of the Sun community.

The CRU provides the following services: 

Phlebotomy
Body Composition by DEXA
EKG
Exercise testing
Oral or intravenous glucose tolerance tests
Muscle and fat biopsies
Stable isotope tracer studies for turnover rates of glucose, fatty acids, and amino acids
Infusion studies
Other endocrine testing
